It’s a matter of people feeling a strong need to conform — rather than be comfortable — wearing all-black clothing in blazing heat. Insanity.

Does anyone know who started this the All-Black Cult nonsense of where one is supposed to wear all-black clothing 365 days a year?

I turned on the television one night and Dame Edna was on. Her guests were Judy Dench and Sharon Osborne, both wearing all-black. At one point in the conversation, Dame Edna said to them: I’ve been meaning to ask you, what funeral did you both just come from? They took her insult well saying, “How dare you!” and Dame Edna continued with “with all this black on.”

I know it’s not a new cult.  This cult has existed for a number of years now, but we’re still seeing it every day in San Francisco.  It’s where people wear all-black clothing even when it’s blazing hot out.  Some people wear black and drab grey, but all-black is the usual.

It used to be just people in their 20s and 30s or so. But now I see people who are later in life with grey hair wearing all-black.  What I’ve noticed about them is that all-black with their grey hair make them look much older than they may be.  Do they enjoy looking older than they are?  All black clothing with that straight grey hair makes me want to ask, “What funeral did you just come from in your all-black?

And maybe they have been brainwashed with “old” — even in their 30s — and ageism as well, so they appreciate looking “old.”

Age is a state of mind; old is a mindset

In reality, age is relative. Age is a state of mind. I have a relative in her early 60s who has chosen to be 90 in her mind and she goes on about how “old” she is.  I find people like that sad. I see people walking with a cane that they drag along behind them. They’ve been brainwashed with “old” and because of that, they think they need a cane when they really don’t.

So with the black and grey cult, it’s a matter of conformity and wanting to fit in, regardless of how hot it is outside.

Along with conformity — which comes from a place of insecurity and feeling the need to conform in order to “fit in” and be accepted by the herd — from what I’ve read the black cult also has to do with people not wanting to have to think about what to wear and what matches what when they get dressed.  I didn’t know that getting dressed for the day was such a big deal for people, but apparently it is for many people.

So rather than spending any time thinking about what pretty colours they want to wear that day, they throw on anything that’s black, regardless of the heat. Apparently no one ever taught these people to wear light colours when it’s hot out to stay cooler.

For the most part, San Francisco has a nice Mediterranean climate and so it rarely gets that hot here. We have the “natural air conditioner” — as we call it — known as the fog that keeps The City cooler.

But one Summer awhile back it was well over 37.7 Celsius/100 degrees outside and I deliberately went outdoors to do an “all black clothing” clothing check.  What went into The Castro and what I found was that even in extreme heat, the black cultists were still wearing all-black, with some people appearing to sun in all-black.  Insanity.

Sadly, this is not just limited to boring and drab clothing. Many people have their home in all black and grey.  I’ve seen that where they have a black couch, black drapes, black blinds, drab grey walls — how can they tell if there’s mold on the walls especially in the bathroom? — when every wall is putrid dingy grey colour? Their furniture is black and grey, the carpet is grey, the bedding is black and grey and the person living there is in all black.

These black and grey cultist people seem terrified of beautiful colours.  I would feel very depressed living in such a situation where I’ve limited myself to wearing funeral colours and living in a place that more resembles a morgue than a beautiful home.

From reading online, the all-black cultists have been brainwashed that all-black is “classy” and “elegant” and other public relations BS.  Yes, people can be made to believe anything (I mean, just look at the “maga” cult as an example of that), and the all-black and grey cultists are some of them.

Bookshelves?

I mentioned bookshelves in the title:  Yes, there are the conformist political commentators on YT who predictable have (usually white) bookshelves behind them to give the appearance that they are learned.  Is one supposed to believe that they have read all of the hundreds of books on the shelves behind them?  That silly fad started during COVID, and it’s still going.
