Do Anglicans support anything that England does because the Anglican Church is the state church?

I don’t, and I’ve not known any Anglicans who do. And if they did, that would be a very fundamentalist point of view.

But it’s what my fake-Jewish neighbour does. She supports anything Israel does, even when she says the disagrees with the far right-wing Israeli government.

And she’s Jewish only when it’s convenient for her. I think she was reared Jewish and that’s about the extent of it. She never goes to temple or synagogue.

My neighbour said to me: Can you believe what’s happening to Biden? (She was referring to his polling numbers tanking.)

I said: Well that’s because he’s on the wrong side of the Israel-Palestine issue.

She said: “Well people really don’t understand…”

I had no idea what that meant and I wasn’t about to pursue it. I dropped it. Then she said something about she’s not able to pay any attention to this issue. I thought: Well, since that’s the case, might you be one of the people you claim “really don’t understand…” since I am paying attention to it from credible sources. And by the day, fewer and fewer people are supporting your Israel.

I cannot understand people like her whose political positions are based on their so-called religious beliefs. Again, my neighbour is not even Jewish. She just pretends to be Jewish when it’s convenient for her. My analogy: It’s like me as an Anglican supporting anything that England does politically because I’m Anglican and the Anglican Church is the Established Church. That’s a very fundamentalist view. I’ve never known any Anglicans like that. I don’t always agree with the Church of England, or the Anglican or Episcopal Church (it’s all the same thing and part of the worldwide Anglican Communion). But my neighbour seems to be of that fundamentalist mindset — doesn’t she claim to be a “liberal” or a “progressive?” (yeah right!) — that she must devoutly support Israel just because she’s a fake Jew and was raised Jewish, even though she never goes to temple or synagogue or does anything that would tell one that she’s Jewish.

So that’s where it was left. She’s the one who brings this up each time as she has done before and my response was the same before about Biden being on the wrong side of the issue. Why does she keep bringing it up? Does she expect me to change and become a cultist for Israel (the #2 Terrorist Nation on the planet after the US, being the #1 Terrorist Nation) like she is?

Did she not hear that Israel’s Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu was suspended indefinitely after he said in an interview that dropping a nuclear bomb on Gaza is a possibility? He also said that the population of Gaza should “go to Ireland or deserts.”

How would my fake-Jewish neighbour defend that? And why would that Netanyahu nut suspend the guy? I should think that he would adamantly agree with him.
