You don’t really have to be anything. You just “identify” as something.
Update: 25 July 2026: I briefly turned on a local radio station and they were talking about, “He identifies as gay” and “She identifies as a lesbian.” (roll eyes). I turned off the radio in disgust and thought: They’re still doing this insane identifying rubbish where nobody has to BE who they are when all they do is identify. The guy on the radio should have said: He’s gay and she’s a lesbian. Period. See how easy that is? And it leaves no doubt as to who they will be tomorrow. But with identifying, it’s like having one foot in the closet. With identifying, one can change who they are as frequently as the wind changes. How will he identify tomorrow? As a tree branch? How will she identify tomorrow? As a lamp? But unfortunately, identifying is still part of the nonsense of the fucked up Gay Agenda and their insane loco/loca script.I read this guy’s profile earlier this week: He said, “I identify as LGBT [image of rainbow flag]… 
Hmmm. Well, he doesn’t look like a lesbian and L is the first letter. He could be gay or bi. He doesn’t look trans either and that’s the fourth letter.
Bottom Line: So he couldn’t just say: I’m gay, or I’m bi? No, he had to “identify.”
This is the new language of the 20s and 30s age group. He’s obviously an acolyte of The Gay Agenda — where they think they have to “update” all time-honoured language which served society well and still does when it’s used — instead of using The Gay Agenda’s ludicrous language by saying, “I identify as LGBT…” Yes, that’s their cookie-cutter language. Sigh. All those words are needed to say two words: “I’m gay?” During the Movement, no one said, “I identify as gay” or “I identify as bi” or “I identify as a lesbian” or “I identify as queer.”
One wonders how he will “identify” tomorrow. This identifying nonsense comes off as if he has one foot in the closet. It creates distance between the person and their sexuality because they refuse to come right out and say, “I’m gay” which is much more personal than “I identify as gay.” One could say: He “identifies” as gay, but he’s not really gay.
One wonders: How will he “identify” tomorrow? As a fire hydrant? Because one can “identify” as anything and change it as they go along. Make it up as they go along.
