Considering what the convicted felon and schoolyard bully has said about Latinos, Hispanos and inmigrantes indocumentados/undocumented immigrants, why would the español language network, Univisión, give that piece of trash any time at all? Well, from what I’ve heard, the network’s corporate owners at Televisa in México are far-right conservatives. That’s why.
I saw that he was on the network and I chose not to turn up the volume because I knew that despite all the lies one would hear flowing from that convicted felon in an oversized adult body, that he would never pronounce the name of the network correctly, partly out of spite and partly out of willful ignorance. No, he can’t even get that far. And in fact, one of the guys (Enrique Asavedo) who works for TelevisaUnivisión would go along with him and pronounce Univisión incorrectly as well — as if it were an English word — therefore catering to stupid, rather than serving as an educator and pronouncing it correctly:

The thing is: They don’t even say Univisión correctly when they’re trying to make it an English word. They say, “You-nah…” Instead of “You-knee.” It’s U-n-i. Not U-n-a. And “v” is a soft “b” sound en español. They completely fuck up “visión.”
It seems to me that it is a networks obligation and duty to educate and inform, not cater to stupid people. But these days it seems that many people don’t share my thinking.
Why do they try to say Univisión as if it were an English word? Do they never think to themselves: Why would an español/spanish language network have an English name? That doesn’t make any sense. Well the network doesn’t have an English name, except to stupid people.
One can either educate, or cater to stupid. I choose the former. As I said earlier, I’ve heard one reporter at TelevisaUnivisión cater to stupid. Rather than educating by pronouncing Univisión as it should be pronounced and as it is pronounced in español, the reporter pronounced it incorrectly for the stupid English language-only speakers. Yes, he catered to stupid. Why didn’t he try to educate them by pronouncing Univisión correctly. Does he cater to stupid with the word “gracias” for example? When an English-only speaker doesn’t know how to pronounce “gracias” does the reporter pronounce it “grey-sigh-ass?” No, he pronounces “gracias” as it’s authentically pronounced in español, because “gracias” is not an English language word either, just like Univisión. So, why is it only this particular word (Univisión) that has people constantly mangling it and catering to stupid? They don’t even have the intelligence to listen/watch their local Univisión affiliate to hear how the network name is correctly pronounced on the network, in part, because they don’t care. They enjoy mangling out of disrespect for Latinos, Hispanos and español. Pathetic.
English and English-only language speakers are the most disrespectful language speakers I can think of that completely disrespect other world languages. English-only speakers try to make any other world language and its words English words, so they strip words of their accents and mangle the pronunciation, they relish in it, they think it’s funny. They don’t have the maturity to educate themselves by learning words from other world languages. Why are they so afraid or terrified of other world languages?
The convicted felon, school yard bully and piece of trash who is running for US president on the Republican side is one of them. He refuses — or can’t learn — how to pronounce Univisión correctly. He thinks it’s an English word. He insists on saying Univisión as if it were an English language word. Of course it wouldn’t dawn on the ignoramus that an español language network would NOT have an English name. That would be way beyond the fist-pumping piece of trash to grasp.
