Parents: Wear Your Baby!

There are fleets of black baby strollers in San Francisco, particularly in the former Gay Mecca, The Castro, and in Cole Valley. It appears that no one is using birth control these days by the number of baby strollers we see on a daily basis.

Historically, they’re probably the people who come to San Francisco to have babies and then they leave after she whispers in his ear, “Honey, we need more space. Why don’t we move out to the suburbs to a large home?” Why didn’t they move to the suburbs to begin with where they were ultimately going to end up? Doh. Why the lay-over in San Francisco?

All of these nannies pile onto MUNI (which is the acronym for Municipal), San Francisco’s excellent transit system. Most of our buses are electric — clean air vehicles — and they’re very quiet, with a smaller fleet of hybrid-electric.

I’ll do a plug for MUNI since my choral friend and I love MUNI: San Francisco operates the greenest public transit fleet in North America.  Managed by the SFMTA, the system relies heavily on zero-emission electric trolley buses, the Muni Metro, historic streetcars, and cable cars powered by 100% renewable hydroelectricity from the Hetch Hetchy Dam system.

Well, the inconsiderate baby stroller crowd think they should be able to pile onto MUNI and go where they need to go with their black condo-sized baby strollers. They block the front door area, and side door area making it nearly impossible for other passengers to get by them. They should be wearing their babies.

I would never put my child in a baby stroller.  I’d prefer chest-to-chest bonding with my child as shown below.  A vehicle can hit a baby stroller, especially a black stroller, where a motorist can’t easily see the black stroller.  And most of these black strollers are the size of condominiums.  The nannies and/or parents put any and all things in the stroller.  The way people pile things in them, aren’t strollers an easy way to shoplift in stores? I. Think. So.

From AI:

“Baby strollers are a well-documented tool used by shoplifters to conceal merchandise and evade store security. Retailers and law enforcement frequently encounter this tactic because strollers naturally provide large, deep storage areas that hide items from a cashier’s or camera’s direct line of sight.”

Especially with the price of petrol being what it is because of the illegal war on Iran started by Israel and its cultists the US, considering the chronically lying 34-count convicted felon and adjudicated sexual pervert/rapist assaulter of the Epstein Class, war criminal and now US dictator, it is good to see parents/nannies taking public transit and being public transit minded versus that of the anti-environmental car culture mindset.

But these parents and nannies should be wearing their baby and dumping that stroller. Wearing one’s baby is a way of bonding with the child:

If these people wore their baby, there wouldn’t be a problem and I wouldn’t be writing this article.

I’d want to be close to my baby, which one can’t be when the baby is stuck in some vehicle with wheels.

But unfortunately, I rarely see anyone wearing their baby in San Francisco — most are in huge black baby strollers — and those who do wear their baby usually have the baby facing the wrong direction (facing outward), which means that the baby is just sort of hanging off of the parent like a doll, unable to have any bonding with the parent. It looks uncomfortable for the child, but I guess that’s so that the parent can get attention from people saying, “Oh what a cute baby.” Isn’t that part of the reason parents have a baby to begin with? For attention? I think so. It’s called The Trophy Baby.
